DGN Link is the primary solution for the small to medium AutoCAD or MicroStation firm which needs two-way translation capability (.Dgn to .Dwg and .Dwg to .Dgn). DGNLink supports batch translation for multiple files in the same directory. It provides an easy to use tables to adjust the translation parameters (layer/level, color, linetype, lineweight, text style, block/cell, xref). The DGNLink user will typically adjust his CAD standards to closely match client specs.

CATS is the full featured translator mainly used by the medium to large AutoCAD or MicroStation firm. CATS supports more associated file types (.Dgn, .Dwg, .Prf, Cell Libraries, .DXF, Binary .DXF) and a full batch capability with files across multiple directories and drives. Translation parameters are controlled by an expanded command set and “If..Then” rules to handle almost any translation need. Commands and rules can be selected by type of file (architectural, electric, HVAC, etc.) or even by individual file. The CATS user generally follows his internal CAD standards for all projects and defines CATS command and rule sets to handle the conversion to client specs.
